Red clover
Trifolium pratense L.
Red clover thrives well on a wide range of soils except very light, acidic
or waterlogged soil. It has a deep rooted system which makes it drought
tolerant. Red clover is widely cultivated in most countries with a
temperate climate and it tolerates low temperatures during winter. The
tetraploid varieties are more vigorous and leafy.
