Red clover

(Trifoilium pratense)

Red clover is an important component in 2-3 year clover-grass fields. The species tolerates less frequent grazing and it is therefore best suited for cutting. Due to its long taproot, red clover is very drought-tolerant, and thrives on a large number of soils (with the exception of very light or waterlogged soils). Red clover utilizes aerial nitrogen.

DLF-TRIFOLIUM is developing both diploid and tetraploid varieties. The tetraploid red clovers are stronger and more productive than the diploid varieties.
