Creeping bentgrass has extremely high, fine and dense shoots. It tolerates very close cutting (3-5 mm), making it particularly suitable for golf greens, where it is used in pure stand.
Colonial bent(Agrostis capillaris L.; Agrostis tenuis)
Colonial bent also has very high shoot density. It is used on golf greens in mixtures with commutata and trichophylla red fescue.
It thrives under varying conditions and is also used in mixtures for roadsides and parks.
