ESSENCE is a top quality perennial ryegrass that exhibits a dark green color, good density, excellent disease resistance, and excellent winterhardiness. It was tied for 4th ranking in turf quality in the 1990-1994 NTEP Perennial Ryegrass Final Report (No. 95-12) at 24 locations across North America and Canada. It is compatible with other improved perennial ryegrasses; Kentucky bluegrass; chewings, slender, creeping and strong creeping red fescue; and colonial bentgrass. It is highly recommended as a component in winter overseeding mixtures and blends on greens, tees and fairways where quick transition is desired.
