GATOR 3 is an elite, new and improved, heat and disease tolerant, very dark green, fine bladed, endophyte enhanced variety. It is highly recommended for areas where heat and humidity are an establishment factor. Gator 3 tied for best overall turf quality in the 1999 National Perennial Ryegrass Test, competing against 134 other improved perennial ryegrass varieties. It tied for the second best overall turf quality in the 1999 NTEP perennial ryegrass report across 28 US and Canadian locations. It is recommended for permanent poly-species turfgrass blends and mixtures and is also used extensively in winter overseeding programs on greens, tees and fairways, either alone or in species mixtures.
