Perennial ryegrass
Quick Facts TOP HAT II is a new generation, heat and disease tolerant, decumbent, very dark green, endophyte enhanced perennial ryegrass variety. It can be utilized in all perennial ryegrass applications where high quality turf is desired. TOP HAT II forms a leafy fine textured turf with rapid germination, excellent traffic tolerance, and poloy-species compatibility. In the 2001 Rutgers Turfgrass Proceedings report, TOP HAT II showed resistance to Gray leaf spot, a disease devastating to many turf grasses: "Two experimental selections, RNS comp, and PR-154 (Top Hat II) showed very good resistance to this disease." (2001 Rutgers Turfgrass Proceedings). It is also excellent for winter overseeding programs on greens, tees and fairways, either alone or in species mixtures.
