TOMCAT is a new and improved tall fescue selected for tolerance to drought, high temperature and brown patch. Tomcat is a dark green, moderately fine textured variety. Plant growth varies from upright to decumbent, and is weakly rhizomatous. Tomcat exhibits reduced vertical growth and lawn care during the growing season. It was developed for permanent turf in full sun or partial shade on home lawns, athletic fields, commercial sites, parks, golf course roughts, and out-of-bounds areas in the US transition zone.

Tomcat is a superior performer (top 5% of 129 entries) as reported in the National Tall Fescue Test - 1996 (Progress Reports 1997 & 1998). It tied for first in turf quality in non-irrigated tests conducted in KY, MI and SC, and first for summer turf density at ten US locations. Tomcat was developed for applications where heat, drought, and disease resistance is critical for long term performance.
